meet the maker

Hi, I'm Liv and I run Long Trail Enamels!

I’m a student at Middlebury College in Vermont studying psychology and global health. I've always loved creating things – from fingerpaintings when I was little to poetry in high school to digital art in college – and am grateful to have found a passion in enameling and metalwork this past year.

I bought a pair of enameled pennies in a small town in Wyoming a few summers ago and have adored them ever since. I was always curious about how they were made and eventually did some research about the enameling process -- over quarantine in May I invested in the blow torch and enamel powder and have been making as much jewelry as I can ever since!

about the shop

Making jewelry originally started as a way to keep my hands and mind busy during pandemic, but as it’s grown I’ve loved the (sometimes overwhelming) process of turning my art into a small business. I draw inspiration from the places I’ve called home – Vermont, Wyoming, Oregon, and New Zealand – and the hundreds of bold, beautiful color possibilities of enamel powder.

You can find my jewelry online or in stores at:

  • The Stone Mill in Middlebury, Vermont
  • Wild Iris in Lander, Wyoming
  • Lotus Moon Boutique in Bend, Oregon
  • The Silk Road in Bronxville, New York

Thanks for visiting my shop! Let me know if you have any questions or want to get in touch about a custom piece. Feel free to shoot me an email at longtrailenamels@gmail.com.
